Can't wait for spring? You'll love this fun collection of quotes about spring from books that you've probably never read before!

I like to write a fun book quote on a chalkboard that I have to match every upcoming season. I love having literary words on my walls! If you also love quotes from books, you’ll love this fun collection of quotes about spring that you’ve probably never read before!

Quotes About Spring From Books (that you’ve probably never read)

These quotes about spring will brighten your day!

“Spring is the time of plans and projects.”
― Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina

“Is the spring coming?” he said. “What is it like?”…

“It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine…”
― Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden

“When spring came, even the false spring, there were no problems except where to be happiest. The only thing that could spoil a day was people and if you could keep from making engagements, each day had no limits. People were always the limiters of happiness except for the very few that were as good as spring itself.”
― Ernest Hemingway, A Moveable Feast

“It’s spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want—oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!”
― Mark Twain

“It was such a spring day as breathes into a man an ineffable yearning, a painful sweetness, a longing that makes him stand motionless, looking at the leaves or grass, and fling out his arms to embrace he knows not what.”
― John Galsworthy, The Forsyte Saga

“I glanced out the window at the signs of spring. The sky was almost blue, the trees were almost budding, the sun was almost bright.”
― Millard Kaufman, Bowl of Cherries

“And the Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth’s dark breast
Rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.”
― Percy Bysshe Shelley, The Complete Poems

“Spring drew on…and a greenness grew over those brown beds, which, freshening daily, suggested the thought that Hope traversed them at night, and left each morning brighter traces of her steps.”
― Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

“I can still bring into my body the joy I felt at seeing the first trillium of spring, which seemed to be telling me, “Never give up hope, spring will come.”
― Jessica Stern, Denial: A Memoir of Terror

Read the Rainbow: 31 Outstanding Books with Red Covers (Quote Me Thursday)

March 4, 2015 by Meet Brenda 8 Comments

I know everyone says not to pick a book by it’s cover, but there is definitely something to be said about cover appeal. I am more likely to pick up a pretty book from an unknown author than an ugly one (that’s how I got The Night Circus).

Cover designers don’t get enough credit for the work that they do. With the read the rainbow series, I want to change that. In honor of cover-designers everywhere, we are going to read the rainbow.

Today, we start off the collection with red.

And if you want to join in the fun this week, add your links to the Lit Lover’s Link up near the end of the post. Click the bolded links to purchase these amazing red-covered books!
