Last time was all about Molly, but this time, Brooke gets the spotlight. Brooke decides that to take her fame to the next level, she needs an amazing blog like Goop. She looks for a ghost writer, and her nemesis Max (best friend of Molly) shows up for the job. They decide to work together, but things do not go as planned.
At first, I thought I liked this book a lot less than Spoiled (because the plot is weak), but by the end of the book I changed my mind. This book is really where the two authors shine (probably because they are bloggers as well).
Characters: The characters in this book are all the same from the last one, except we see Max’s quirky parents a little more. Her inventor dad is fairly funny, but he wasn’t in the book enough to really stand out. We see the internal side of Brooke more, which makes her seem more realistic than in the last book.
Plot: I didn’t really like the plot on this one. That is why, although I really enjoyed reading the book, I couldn’t rate it as highly as the first. I was about 2/3 of the way through the book and still asking, “when will the plot start?” Not good, in my book. When the plot did get going, it was a little predictable, and the girls ended up fighting over a boy (yawn).
Setting: C and M definitely know how to write hilarious stuff. The blog entries in the book actually made me laugh out loud a couple of times, which almost never happens to me. No one is better able to make fun of the rich and slightly famous than these ladies.
I hope these two write more books. They might want to think a little deeper on the plots though.
