Today, I am featuring Liza from Reading with ABC. She has the prettiest blog, go check it out!
Tell me a little about yourself:
Hi there! I’m Liza, I’m originally from Puerto Rico, and I have been living in the States for 21 years so far. I have three boys and I’m happily married to my high school sweetheart and the love of my life. I work full time in something related to the health care industry. Besides blogging and reading books, I love to bake and do paper crafts.
Where you do hang out online?
I have been blogging at Reading with ABC for almost four years.
Why are these books your favorite?
First let me tell you that this is really hard! I have many favorites and here are a few YA faves: Harry Potter is a given and need no explanation (I hope!) I love the The Daughter of Smoke & Bone series, and the Raven Cycle series
; they have great unique writing, an incredible plot and outstanding characterization in common. Gayle Forman’s books are packed full of feels and great characters.
Why do you like to read in this spot?
It’s quiet and it has great natural light during the day.
What appeals to you about your favorite author?
The feels! These books are full of them, the writing is heartfelt and beautiful and the characters are complex. Gayle Forman is a genius!
What made you choose those books for your TBR pile?
This is a picture of my immediate TBR ARC shelf. These are books that I have the best intention of reading soon-ish 🙂
What do you look for in a non-fiction book?
I don’t read non-fiction.
How did you acquire your oldest book?
Before I started reading mostly YA, I read a lot of historical romance. Since we are a military family, I used to not keep a lot of books until this final station (Maryland) because this will be our last. Anyway, these Julia Quinn books have been with me for a while and I purchased them from Amazon (as far as I remember.)
What is your favorite thing about the book cover you chose?
This is a Canterbury Classics edition of Jane Austen’s Persuasion. I love the texture of the cover, it’s very soft. Also it has quotes from the book on the cover, front and back. Even the inside is pretty.
What makes you return to your most-read book over and over?
I just love the Harry Potter series and the last book was just so amazing. It is heartbreaking since so many beloved characters don’t make it, but it is also the culmination of seven years of struggle for our young heroes.
How do you organize your books?
For the most part they are organized by author and age. What that means is that I have separate shelves for YA, adult, and children/MG. All my YA books are organized by alpha, except by the ARCs that will be published soon. It sounds complicated, huh?
Where do you get your books? What appeals to you about that venue?
I don’t buy too many books, but when I do I tend to buy eBooks or if I absolutely cannot wait for a book, I go to Books-A-Million because it’s the closest bookstore to my house. If I can wait to get the book, I will order it from Amazon, BAM or B&N (depends on the price!)
