I have been asked this question before… Why do I like writing fantasy? The answer I always give is that it frees me! I get so much joy in World Building, and creating the inhabitants of my world! I feel free to become anyone I want, and have any power! How cool is that?
Characters: The type of characters I enjoy writing about ranges in all ages. But they all have some underlying strength about them. I also tend to love to write about strong female characters. Giving them physical and emotional strength is what I focus on primarily, especially with my having a teen daughter. I desire to write characters that can be role models for Teens and Young Adults.
My males are equally strong, but have tenderness within that; I feel at least does not show weakness, but a different variation of strength, which reflects their ability to love with their entire heart. Although at times, my male characters can be a little Alpha, and has to learn here and there to let it go at times.
Action: I enjoy action in my world. I am always studying and looking for ways to show my characters in action, either through their supernatural abilities or fighting prowess! I enjoy a good fight scene!
Romance: I am a huge sucker for a passionate romance. Even when writing for teens, I love having a strong (appropriately displayed for the ages) romance element, I believe it is the gravy to a good meal.
So, I am relatively new at World Building, but I believe I will be involved in crafting my own worlds for some time to come! My hope is that others will enjoy the worlds that I create and that once they visit while reading… it may provide a needed escape for just a while to the reader. Also, my hope is that it will be a place the reader will look forward to visiting once again!
