Judith O’Brien is an adult author who has also written some YA novels. I know her from her Mary Jane
series, which is basically a retelling of the Spiderman story from MJ’s prospective. Side note: Wouldn’t all comics be better in book form? I think so. I find comics hard to follow. O’Brien also has written several other stories, including her most popular the Timeless Love series. She hasn’t written that many books, but her writing is clear, easy to follow and enjoyable to read. The MJ story contained realistic topics, but explored them in a young-reader friendly way, which I appreciate. I plan to read more of her stories, even though they lean more toward romance style.
