This past weekend, I was able to go shopping for fun for the first time in a long time. On my trip, I visited a thrift shop and a bookstore. The thrift shop had hardback books for a dollar and paperback books for 50 cents. The bookstore was also having a huge clearance sale with most books under $4. Between these two places, I was able to purchase several new and exciting-looking books. So, as most of you know, I'm currently expecting my second child in January. Because I am a crazy over-planner in some aspects, I have a hard time just letting things "happen," like how I plan to feed my child. I am definitely a parent that thrives best on some kind of schedule for my babies. I think I would go crazy worrying about the baby all the time if I tried to use "instincts." Summer Reading and Activities

Last week, temperatures in Dallas reached about 93 degrees. For some reason, when I feel hot, I visit the library. Summer is for libraries and reading in Texas, because it's too hot to do anything else! Great Books for 5th Graders
