Books I’ve Bought Recently

This past weekend, I was able to go shopping for fun for the first time in a long time. On my trip, I visited a thrift shop and a bookstore. The thrift shop had hardback books for a dollar and paperback books for 50 cents. The bookstore was also having a huge clearance sale with most books under $4. Between these two places, I was able to purchase several new and exciting-looking books. Here is what I was able to come away with: Greenwitch by Susan Cooper (Book 3 in the Dark Is Rising … [Read more...]

She loves The Hobbit, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, and some other fantasy-style books. This list is skewed toward that kind of book, because that seems to be her favorite genre. I have created a few other lists with some other styles of books, for middle schoolers, for girls, and for boys. So, without further … [Read more...]

So, now that April is about halfway done, I think it's time to mention a few of the best books to read over the summer. Why do people read more in the summer? I guess because school's out... I seem to read more in the summer as well. Maybe it's because there are longer daylight hours? Also, summer in Texas wants to kill you, so it's best to stay indoors... Fahrenheit 451: A Novel- Fires, crazy people, and oppression. What more could you want? I, Robot- Can a robot have a soul? The Ender … [Read more...]
