Book Vs TV Show: A Clash of Kings vs Game of Thrones Season 2

So far, there have been more discrepancies in season 2 than season 1. The main one that bothers me so far, is the deal with Theon Greyjoy and his sister. In the book, she wasn’t even there when he arrived home. She was off sailing with her ships. So, why in the movie, did they have to put in more almost sibling incest? I feel like that is completely unnecessary. I haven’t read all of the book yet, but I bet there are other differences as well. I wonder why they would have more this season than last season?

  1. there were a LOT of disrepancies this season, but asha greyjoy letting theon hit on her totally was in the book.

  2. Brenda says:

Maybe I just missed it then. It wasn’t when he first arrived.

  3. I am looking for conversation about the discrepancies between Clash of Kings the book and CoK the series. I have read all the books published so far and I think HBO has done a fantastic job translating into film. I can also understand that there are so many characters and locations in the books that they have to do some editing. But last night (s2 ep7) I started to get confused. Where is Reek? In a previous episode his father who is fight with Robb said let me send my bastard to the North. But it seems he has not appeared yet.

  4. YES SHE WAS! She lied about her name to trick theon.

  5. Heh heh, I guess she tricked me too then. :-)
