Featured Author: P.G. Wodehouse
P.G. Wodehouse is a famous English writer from the early 1900s. Many of his stories contained humorous concepts that such authors as Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett used as a writing-style base for their stories.
Oddly enough, when I read a few stories by Wodehouse, I missed the humorous elements. I may not be English enough, or maybe not old enough, but for whatever reason, I did not find the stories very funny. Perhaps the book I read was not supposed to be.
Many of the stories that Wodehouse wrote centered around late 1800 and early 1900 British high society. In this instance, Wodehouse reminds me of many other authors from the 1800s. It seems that the English did not really like to write about the working class during that time. Wodehouse died in 1975.
Some of P.G. Wodehouse’s most famous works include:
Blandings Castle series
The Drones Club series
Jeeves series
Golf stories
Mr Mulliner series
School stories
Wodehouse also wrote many other stand-alone novels and short stories.
