Can you believe November is here? With my crazy October, I can’t believe that it’s already time to start thinking about Christmas gifts!
This year, I’ve decided to feature specific gift guides for book lovers with fun themes. I’ll be creating one of these each week until the middle of December.
First up is book gifts for men. Men/boys/guys/dudes/dads get overlooked when it comes to book merchandise, because we ladies tend to wear our fandoms on our sleeves, but the men are more likely to keep things to their chest.
However, if you know a bookish dude, I bet he would be pleased to get any of these book gifts for men!
Personally, I’m putting a few of these items on my list for my dad and a couple of brothers who love books.
10 Book Gifts for Men (that they will actually use)
Personal Library Kit
My siblings and I share books a lot and over time, it gets confusing over who the original owner of the book was. This Personal Library Kit would clear things up.
Crime and Punishment Hot Sauce
Too much heat for just one bottle, the Crime and Punishment Hot Sauce needs two bottles to contain all of the spicy flavor.
I love puns, so of course I love this book. Any man who loves books will also appreciate Tequila Mockingbird book. Just make sure he doesn’t already have it first.
Kurt Vonnegut Mug
I haven’t seen this famous author featured on a mug before. The bright colors and bold style makes the Kurt Vonnegut Literary Mug perfect for any literature-loving dude to sip his coffee out of each morning while he shakes his fist at the dumbing down of literature and the rise of click bait articles even in newspapers.
Book Cover Kindle Cover
Honestly, I don’t know a book lover male or female who wouldn’t go nuts over these cases. These Kindle cases feature original cover art from classic books of literature. My siblings and my dad are big Sherlock Holmes fans, so I put this one in today’s round up. Fair disclosure: this one is my favorite as well.
Inspired by the French poet, Baudelaire cologne has a mix of woody, floral, and musky scent that any literary-loving man will appreciate. This particular bottle is currently on sale for $112, so only put in on your list if you *really* want to impress your favorite guy with the best book gifts for men this Christmas. And if he is a book lover, he’s probably worth trying to impress. 🙂
If your literature-loving man is also into camping, why not splurge for this bookish tent? I’m trying to convince my husband we need this tent for our camping trips, but so far it has been a no-go.
Books About Authors and Reading
The trouble with giving a physical book as one of your book gifts for men is that you can never be sure of the person’s taste or if they already own the book you are considering. A gift of a book about reading or that offers an insider look at authors is the perfect book gift for men who love literature. I particularly like the look of Last Night’s Reading, which features illustrations and quotes from author readings. Ruined By Reading also looks like a good pick.
If your book-loving man/boy/dude/whatever likes to cook, why not bring literature into the kitchen? There are dozens of literature-themed cookbooks out there. I chose A Taste of Murder as my pick foe food-themed book gifts for men because it has the word “murder” in the title, which honestly sounds a lot more fun than recipes based on “A Home for a Bunny” or something equally benign. Also, that cake though.
My personal goal in life is to see if I can get my husband to wear crazier and crazier socks to work. These Shakespeare socks would fit the bill perfectly and would be a fun addition to any book-loving man’s sock drawer.
Are there any book-loving men in your life? What do you think of my choices for book gifts for men?
