Now for this month’s questions!
1. What are you reading right now? Tell us about it.
I’m not reading much of anything right now. I just finished the last two book club picks (The Night Garden and Lost Lake). I also read Cheerful Weather for the Wedding recently, which is an old 1930s book about a young woman who was rather thoughtless and broke the heart of her childhood sweetheart, who wasn’t willing for whatever reason to say that he still loved her. It is tragic and absurd, and very short. It was really enjoyable to read, but I think I enjoyed the movie better (shocking, I know).
2. What are your top 3 reads for summer?
I don’t have anything that are necessarily “must-reads” for summer, unless you count Go Set a Watchman that is set to come out in July. This year, I’ve been more into historical novels than in some previous years, when I would typically read YA or science fiction.
3. Do you have a favorite book that you like to re-read?
I enjoy reading The Princess Bride multiple times. I also need to do a re-read of Harry Potter, because I’ve forgotten way too many details in that story.
4. Do you have a favorite reading spot?
Ideally, I like reading outdoors, but realistically for Texas, I do most of my reading on my couch or in bed. I used to love reading in bed the most, but these days, it makes my hands fall asleep too quickly.
5. Do you enjoy a sipping on a beverage while you read? If so, tell us your favorite drink pairing!
I tend to drink hot tea a lot while reading books. Peppermint tea is my go-to beverage, but I also enjoy a variety of tea flavors. I would love to be more of a person who sips fabulous cocktails while reading books in a hat with a feather on the top, but I am not that person yet.
Happy to be back with the Literary Junkie link party!
