One of the coolest things about book blogging is the connection you can have with authors. Blogging and social media have made it easier than ever to connect with authors without having to wait for a book signing.
I really love this, and it is one of my favorite things to do. I’ve interviewed many authors, and some authors have even guest posted here on Daily Mayo, which I think is super amazing!
Here are some of my favorite interviews:

My favorite way to interact with authors is by interviewing them, because they become sort of friends after that. I have yet to interview any super-famous authors, but I intend to soon! It’s all about getting up the courage to ask. I would love to interview John Green, Orson Scott Card, and Jennifer Chiaverini.
I love it when authors re-tweet a review of their book, or some other post that I have written. My most successful review ever was Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker, which Jennifer Chiaverini posted to Twitter, which was then re-tweeted by Penguin publishing. That was pretty cool.
I’ve only attended two book signings/author events, mainly because I have two young kids. I once went to a book signing by paranormal romance author Terry Spear (fun fact, her children were friends of mine growing up), and a few weeks ago, I just happened randomly on an author event going on with Phillip Kerr when I was at Book People in Austin (fun fact about me, Philip was supposed to be my name if I had been a boy). He didn’t leave me with a very good impression of him though- he seemed super arrogant. Maybe he just hates Texas? I don’t know.
Another time though, I was on the World of Ink radio show with a few authors, and that was really fun. We talked about fun things like how authors can connect with bloggers and how children’s authors can promote their content.
I would love to attend more things in person, because I love connecting with other authors!
