Today’s Book Blogger Hop question:
What book gave you goose bumps?
Well, I’ll tell you, I’m a hard-hearted reader. I can’t think of a single book that has actually given me goose bumps. Usually, I’m just like, “Whatever, it’s a book.” However, I have read some things that are creepy in my time and should have given me goosebumps. That is, if I were a normal person.
Lost Boys: It’s been a while, but I think this book features ghosts and pedophilia. Now that’s a creepy combo.
Coraline: OK, I lied. This book would have given me goosebumps if I had finished it. I don’t know why I found it so creepy, but yikes. Something about the button eyes.
James and the Giant Peach: I don’t know why either, but this story always creeped me out as well.
I know I’ve read dozens of creepy stories, but I’m drawing a blank on any others. Share your favorites and maybe it will jog my memory some.
Now for the FF question:
What book (or TV show or movie) have you not read that seemingly everyone else has?
I try to read most of the popular books that are turned into shows. However, I have yet to read the Percy Jackson series. No one ever seems to have book one for sale. Of course, I nearly always like the book better. I feel like a book is more immersive than a movie.
Popular series turned into movies/TV shows that I have read:
I need to do some more comparisons, but my 8-month old doesn’t like me to go to movies these days. I’m sure hanging out with her is better than any book-turned-movie I could watch anyway. One movie I am kind of dreading watching (but still will as soon as possible, I’m sure), is Ender’s Game. I seriously doubt I will like that movie. I loved the book way too much. It’s one of my all-time favorites.
