For most people, writing isn’t rocket science. If you have ever picked up a copy of the latest teen book craze and thought, “I could do better than this,” its probably true. The only difference between you and that person is that the author of that story actually did it. That person committed to writing something and finished it. But before they could finish, they had to start. How many times have you thought, “I should write something today,” but never do? I know that has happened to me thousands of times. If I had actually written something down every time I thought about it, I probably could have written at least 3 books by now.
So, today’s topic and challenge, is to actually write something! Don’t worry about how it looks, grammar, punctuation, or even if it makes sense at all. Just write it. The key to getting started writing, is to simply do it. Set aside a time today and write something, even if it is just a sentence or two. You will probably find that once you get started, you uncover tons of other ideas buried in your brain. If not, that’s fine too. Just getting anything down is better than nothing.
