*I was sent a copy of John Vorhaus’ latest e-book, “How to Write Good” to review. All opinions of the book are my own.*
Book: How to Write Good
Author: John Vorhaus
Rating: 4 stars
Quick review: Clever motivational book for getting past common writer’s hurdles.
Extended review: I really had no idea what to expect when I started the book, because I had never heard of John Vorhaus before, and with a title like “How to Write Good” I figured either the book had to be comedy-based, or it was going to be the worst book on writing I have ever seen.
It ended up being a little of both, but that turns out to be the point of the book.
The goal of this book is to help new writers get past the hang-ups that normally interfere with writing, like fear of exposure, formatting, and the lack of “good” ideas. John Vorhaus claims whimsy is one of the best approaches to writing, and I agree with him.
After reading “How to Write Good” I found myself inspired to get working on my stories again, so I definitely recommend this book if you need some extra motivation for completing a project or have any interest in writing professionally at all.
