Plot: In the sequel to The Mysterious Benedict Society, the four children are bored a year later. Mr. Benedict plans a reunion adventure for them, but before they can start the adventure, he is kidnapped by his brother, Mr. Curtain. The four children must then escape from their caregivers and follow the clues that Mr. Benedict gave them for the adventure to find out where he is being held and why.
Thoughts: I like this series of books. I always like stories about smarter children and adventures. I think actual children would also like this book. Overall, I think the book gets a little boring in spots, but I can’t tell if that is because I am an adult now and want more action, or if it really is a little stilted in spots. Either way, this is a fun and exciting series that I think would be fun to read aloud as a family.
