So, now that April is about halfway done, I think it’s time to mention a few of the best books to read over the summer. Why do people read more in the summer? I guess because school’s out… I seem to read more in the summer as well. Maybe it’s because there are longer daylight hours? Also, summer in Texas wants to kill you, so it’s best to stay indoors…

The Ender Quartet– In the future, everyone sucks just as much as they do today.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy- If aliens ever attack, don’t forget your towel.
Dune Series– Your mind and imagination will be challenged.
Slaughterhouse-Five: A Novel– War, aliens, what else do you need?
Starship Troopers– The commercialism of future wars- very interesting.
The War of the Worlds– If you think science fiction is imaginative now, just remember that this guy wrote this story before cars existed.
World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War– Everyone needs to read a cool zombie story!
The Road– In the aftermath of nuclear war, a father and son try to retain humanity.
I Am Legend– If something is different, does that make it wrong?
The Lost World– Travel to a world of undiscovered dinosaurs right here on earth!
Timothy Zahn’s Star Wars– Because it’s better than the original.
The Space Trilogy– Interesting theories on the origin of planets and how evil worked its way in.
The Hunger Games– Who wouldn’t want to read about teenagers hacking each other to bits?
